Tatarstan cartoon became the winner of the film festival in Syria

From October 16 to 20, the film festival “Days of Cinema in Damascus” was held in the capital of Syria, the purpose of which is intercultural dialogue. The initiator of the film forum was the Diaspora of Syrians in Ukraine, the school “The sons of martyrs's Schools”, the National Syrian Cinema Organization with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the country.

The main focus of the first festival was decided to make films about youth and give preference to young authors. In total, the competition program presented 28 paintings from 17 countries. These are feature films, animation, documentaries. Russia was represented by a cartoon from Kazan director Elena Yermolina “Gulnazek - the victor of demons”, a play by Leonid Telezhinsky “Wings” and the debut work of documentary Vladimir Kovalchuk “The Shadow Player”.

On October 20, the closing ceremony of the “Days of Cinema in Damascus” film festival took place. The Tatarstan cartoon “Gulnazek – Victor of the Demons ” Elena Yermolina was awarded the silver prize of the film festival. The golden prize of the film festival was awarded to the film by Askar Nurakun uulu "In love with movies" (Kyrgyzstan).

Information: "Gulnazek – Victor of Demons " became the winner in the nomination "The Best National Film for Children" and the winner of the Guild of Film Critics and Critics of Russia Prize of the XIV Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema.
