On October 15, 2018 at 16.00, the official opening of the Oda by Derzhavin “God” exhibition in a calligraphic embodiment, dedicated to the 275th anniversary of the birth of Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin, will take place at the exhibition site of the Museum of Bolgarian Civilization. The exhibition is connected with the ode “God” written by him in 1784, which, in the number of translations into different languages of the world, ranks second after the Bible and is the greatest work of Russian poetry of the 18th century.
The author of the idea and concept of the exhibition, Rakhmatullina Alfia Bakhitzhanovna, author of creative projects related to the history and culture of Russia and Tatarstan, is an honored cultural worker of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The artistic embodiment of the ode was made by teachers and students of the Center for the Art of Calligraphy “From AZA to IZHITSA”, St. Petersburg. Fragments of the ode "God" were written by them in different languages and different types of letters. Writing an ode required a special attitude and condition from the calligrapher, corresponding to the height of the poet's syllable, since the ode “God” occupies a special place in Russian poetry in its content, and is equivalent to the hermit's deep prayer.
The exhibition will be open from October 15 to November 17, 2018.
