"Golden Sarmatian lion" - the main award of the XI International Film Festival "East and West. Classics and Vanguard ", held in Orenburg, received a picture "Mullah"directed by Ramil Fazlyev. Awarding took place on 30 August.
Director of the film Ramil Fazlyev jury recognized the winner in the nomination "Best Actor". In total this year at a film festival 24 prizes have been handed over.
For reference: The author of the idea of the film "Mullah" is the composer Marat Akhmetshin. The young mullah Asfandiyar is played by head of the Atninsky Drama Theater Ramil Fazlyev. He is also director of the tape together with the young Kazan director Amir Galiaskarov.
The picture tells how its main character Asfandiyar receives an unexpected proposal from an elderly businessman to become a mullah in the village where he built the mosque. The arrival of a young mullah in the village reveals a depressing problem of soullessness of local residents. Asfandiyar will have to reverse this situation with the help of true faith and firmness of his character.
In the film, as in the play, there is a theme of love. The main heroine named Nalima plays the leading actress of the Atninsky Theater Guzel Gafarova, who starred in the television series "White Flowers" and played the role of the mother of Chingiz Aitmatov in the film dedicated to the famous writer. One of the roles in the movie "Mullah" was played by the famous Russian actor Marat Basharov.
The film is based on the play of the classic of Tatar literature Toufan Minnullin, published in 2006. The play was staged repeatedly in theaters of Tatarstan, as well as in Ufa at the Bashkir Academic Theater.
