The film " Vodyanaya (Water demon)" has been presented at the prestigious Russian film festival

Within the prestigious film festival "Window to Europe" in Vyborg, the Russian premiere of the first Tatarstan blockbuster "Water demon" was held. The picture at the festival was presented by producer and director Alexei Barykin and  performer of one of the main roles Nikolay Nevzorov. The film was emotionally received by the audience, among whom there were many children. The film "Water demon" was highly appreciated by film critics, it was invited to a number of Russian and international film festivals. In addition, at the "Window to Europe" festival, the producers received an offer from Russian and foreign distributors. It is expected that in 2018-2019 the film will be released in a wide rental simultaneously throughout the Russian Federation, as well as in some other countries and in Internet cinemas.

Info: "Water demon" is a fantasy film with elements of mysticism based on the works by Kayum Nasyri. The picture is intended for family viewing and has the category 12+. The film used a lot of computer graphics and special effects, as well as complex tricks. The main roles in the film were performed by children, Ekaterina Barykina and Nikolai Nevzorov. Also, in the film took part  the famous Tatarstan artists Nafisa Khayrullina, Fanis Ziganshin, Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, Guzel Shakirzyanova, Yulia Zakharova and Askhat Khismatov.

According to the story, the brother and sister come with their mother to visit relatives in a remote Tatar village. On a dark night, their mother is abducted by a terrible witch who dwells in the lake. Now the children have to figure out how to free the mother from the hands of evil spirits. Soon it becomes clear that the woman was kidnapped not by chance, and behind the demon attacks are real people.

Within the framework of the XIV Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, a film about the film will be presented at a creative meeting with the film crew.

The film was filmed with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the financial support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov, businessman Vladimir Bratukhin.
