Enlightenment project "Meeting place with art" will be held in Yelabuga

29 August 2018, Wednesday

September 4, 2018, in Yelabuga on the site of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve the third stage of the All-Russian project "Meeting place with art" starts. The educational initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO" was successfully held in 53 small and medium-sized cities of Russia and continues the procession across the country, this year embracing 9 new regional areas, among them Yelabuga.

A large-scale project is being implemented with the participation of the Russian Museum, the Institute of Fine Arts of Moscow State Pedagogical University, the Institute of Art Education and Cultural Studies of RAO, the Russian Post and the Artek ICCU. Beginning in April 2016, residents of the cities of Russia get acquainted with the key works by Alexander Deineka and Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Alexander Laktionov and other Soviet artists of the 1920s and 40s. For 2 years the project has already visited 50 small and medium cities of Russia. The total length of the cultural route was 68 thousand kilometers - the distance traveled would be enough to circumnavigate the globe 5 times. The duration of the project in Elabuga will be 19 days: at this time the exhibition will run and an educational program for children and adults will be held.

The team of the organizers tried to do their utmost to match the originals as much as possible - the image was applied to the primed canvas using a unique technology with observance of color nuances and preservation of the texture of the painting. To reconstruct one work, up to 40 very accurate pictures of each picture were made.

Students of the Institute of Fine Arts of the Moscow Pedagogical State University will act as consultants - conductors for the exhibition. They will conduct interactive excursions, show videos, lectures written for the project by art historians of the Russian Museum, to immerse the viewer in the socio-historical context of creating works.

Young participants of the project - adolescents 11-12 and 13-15 years old - are waiting for interregional drawing competition "My picture says." For both age groups, a unique program of master classes has been developed: children are offered to write a small essay-an explanation for the future picture, and then transfer their history in the form of an artistic image. The finalists, like last year, will go to the thematic shifts to the International Children's Center "Artek", and the result of the competition will be an exhibition of winning projects in Moscow.
