On August 3-5, the XI All-Russian Spassky Fair and the XI All-Russian Bell-Ringing Festival, whose founders and organizers were Yelabuga Municipal District, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Naberezhnye Chelny and the region "Zakamye" and Elabuga State Museum-Reserve.
In total, more than 217 000 people visited the fair and festival for 3 days. Tourist groups and guests from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orel, Tula, Perm Krai, Kemerovo, Izhevsk, Mozhga, Ufa, Kazan, Leninogorsk, Buinsk, Zainsk, Almetyevsk came to Yelabuga on the days of these events. The largest number of visitors came from neighboring Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk.
The official guest of the fair was Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan L.R. Fazleeva. The main speech at the opening of the fair was made by head of the Yelabuga municipal district G.E. Emelyanov.
860 masters of arts and crafts, representatives of national art crafts and folk craftsmen, 702 enterprises of small retail trade and industrial organizations, 50 public catering enterprises, 60 attractions from 176 cities and settlements of the Russian Federation (Altai Republics, Bashkortostan, Mari El, Mordovia, Udmurtia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Krasnodar, Stavropol and Perm Territory, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Vladimir, Volgograd, Vologda, Raven Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Orenburg, Penza, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Tambov, Tver, Tula, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Yaroslavl regions), Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine, India, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan took part in the XI All-Russia Spassky Fair.
The masters presented jewelery, national costumes, model clothes, feather products, painting on wood, art weaving, ceramics, gzhel, artistic leather processing, patchwork and dolls, embossing, engraving, metal painting, lace from metal, bast, glasses, vines and much more. At the fair, assortments of products from Gzhel, Khokhloma, Nizhnetagilskaya painting on a metal tray, Yelets laces, Orenburg and Pavlovsky Posad shawls, products made of birch bark, leather, ceramics, flax, vines, jewelry, products of Zlatoust craftsmen and much more have been presented.
The decoration of the 11th All-Russian Spassky Fair was the performance by professional artists and folklore groups. For all comers, master classes were organized to make souvenirs with their own hands. At the fair the products of agricultural enterprises and companies of the processing industry, producers of consumer goods were widely represented.
All the participants have been welcomed by the participants of the Bell-ringing Festival on the square near the Spassky Cathedral, in which this year 58 callers, 93 performers and creative teams from 32 cities took part.
On August 4, on the main stage of the Spassky Fair, thanks to the initiative of MTZ-Tatarstan, a concert of the Belarusian State Ensemble Pesnyary took place, which became a real gift to all masters and numerous guests of the holiday.
The ceremonial closing of the fair traditionally included awarding of masters in various nominations, which this year were particularly diverse. This indicates the expansion of not only the geography of participants in the fair, but also the assortment of the imported goods. To stimulate this, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan annually establishes 25 cash prizes.
