July 14 marks the 275th anniversary of the birth of Gabriel Romanovich Derzhavin

July 14, 2018 will be the All-Russian Festival of Poetry, dedicated to the 275th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet and outstanding statesman Gabriel Romanovich Derzhavin.

The Derzhavinsky Poetry Festival will begin on July 14 at 10.00 in Kazan at the monument to G.R. Derzhavin in the Lyadsky Garden (Gorky Street) with a solemn laying of flowers in which the leaders of the Republic of Tatarstan, members of the Writers' Union of Tatarstan, poets, teachers, festival guests and literary figures -cultural community. Poets of our time will take part in laying-on of the "Poetic Wreath G.R. Derzhavin from contemporary poets. " Before the "free microphone" every poet will be able to read out  one poem - Derzhavin's work or poems of his own composition.
