July 8, 2018, in Nurlat, the XII All-Russian festival of Chuvash culture "Uyav" will take place. The holiday opens with the traditional ritual of hammering in a peg into the ground, which means the beginning of a good, kind deed. In recent years ethnic festivals have become an ornament of the holiday, where one can get acquainted with the rich Chuvash culture. The features of the Chuvash life and family, fragments of the wedding ceremony, the naming, the feast of the autumn beer "Ker sari", the song festival "Uyav", gatherings and others will be shown here. In the city of masters there are products of masters of arts and crafts. Traditionally there will be competitions "National Drink" and "National dish", competition "Chavash Pattare" ("Chuvash hero"), Competition "Uyav Piki" ("Beauty Uyava"), photo contest "UIAV in the lens".
During this time, the organizers of the holiday have accumulated a rich experience, there were ideas of modern reading of traditional elements of the holiday. A feature of the last holidays was the expansion of the festive space, the saturation of its various venues (sports, games, stage), whose goal is to involve as many people as possible: children, youth, adults. Today "Uyav" is not just a Chuvash holiday, but a unifying beginning. On this day, participants in the festival lead traditional dances, sing old songs. This year, 35 teams from 18 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan and 30 collectives from the regions of the Russian Federation (the Chuvash Republic, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Samara Region, etc.) are expected to participate.
