Camp "Arkheos": a fascinating journey into the past
On July 8, the next tent historical and regional study "Arheos" starts. Every summer, for many years, the camp is conducted on the Ilet River near the village of Shumlyany, Vysokogorsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The theme of the camp is chosen every year from a period of the history of Volgo-Kamia from the early Iron Age to the 17th century. This year, the guys will be transported to four hundred years ago, in times that are commonly called "vague," and will survive an unforgettable adventure. Having become residents of the beginning of the XVII century for the period of the camp's work, children can try themselves in the role of archer, artisan or other characters in history.
Also, vacationers will listen to a course of lectures on Russian history, get acquainted with the way of life and customs of the townspeople of that era, its laws and customs, meet with the revived characters of ancient tales and legends and themselves become participants in historical events.
The children will be able to try their hand at making jewelry from copper and brass, master the potter's skill and learn how to work with leather, embroider and weave belts, cook dishes at the stake, loved by our ancestors, ride horses, learn the properties of herbs and habits of animals and birds. They are waiting for the theater studio and survival studio, which will help to adapt to the role and adequately respond to the situation, motivate actions and express their opinions.
The Survival Studio will teach the basics of security in the forest, campfire science, orientation on the terrain, first aid. Here you can learn a lot about the properties of plants and the habits of animals of our forests and fields. In an alternative kitchen, you can learn the basics of culinary arts.
Evening in the camp is a competition of fairy tales, rituals, legends and forgotten games. During the whole shift, in the free time, the Lapte Championship will be held. Well, and, of course, swimming, songs by the fire and other joys of camping life.
Returning home, the children can rightly say to their parents: "We have visited the past and know the price of the present!".
