Exhibition "Tatarstan - Sports Republic" opens in the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan
June 13, 2018 at 15.00б the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan on the eve of the World Cup FIFA-2018 opens a new exhibition "Tatarstan - a sports republic."
The World Cup is the largest sporting event, which attracted the attention of millions of people around the world, truly a holiday for all football fans. And the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, being the largest museum in the region, possesses the richest collection of items related to the history of sports, personal belongings of outstanding athletes such as the Olympic champion in weightlifting Alexander Kurynov, international chess master Rashid Nezhmetdinov, Olympic champion in fencing Nail Gilyazova and many others, did not stay away from the events dedicated to this landmark event in the history of our country.
The items of a new exhibition are truly unique. In addition to the history of sports achievements of our region, the museum will feature the most significant sport trophies, having by Tatarstan sports clubs and sportsmen in recent years. The main pride of the exhibition will be the Gagarin Cup, which is already the third time the hockey club "Ak Bars", which visitors can see only on the opening day of the exhibition!
A special place is occupied by the exhibits connected with the history of the football club "Rubin", celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2018. Guests of the museum will be able to get acquainted with the most significant awards of the club - the Russian Super Cup and the Russian Football Champions Cup. The "star" of the team is by right the Turkish midfielder Gökdeniz Karadeniz, an outstanding football player, whose awards and sports equipment will be of interest to fans of football and museum visitors.
For many years Tatarstan teams have won a huge number of awards, among our athletes there are Olympic champions, champions of Russia. The cups of the men's volleyball club "Zenit-Kazan", which is currently the best volleyball club in the world, will also take their place at the new exhibition.
Visitors of the museum will be able to immerse themselves in the history of sports achievements and see the cups of the team "KAMAZ-Master", which is a multiple winner and fifteen-time winner of the supermarathon "Dakar". The Cup of the Winner of the Club World Championship among women's teams in volleyball, which is owned by the club "Dynamo-Kazan", for the first time in the history of Soviet and Russian sport, became the world champion among clubs, as well as the awards of basketball clubs "UNICS" and "Kazanochka" and many other trophies visitors of the exhibition will be able to see in the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The work of the exhibition will last until July 15.
