The round table on the topic "Leo Tolstoy and Contemporary Literature" was held at the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan

In the year of Leo Tolstoy in the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the anniversary events held  at the University of Kazan and Tatarstan to the 190th anniversary of the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, in the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan  a roundtable themed "Leo Tolstoy and modern literature"  took place. The meeting was attended by  lead researcher of life and work of Leo Tolstoy, widely known in Russia and abroad, literary critic, literary critic and writer, academician of the Academy of Russian contemporary literature, Pavel  V. Basinsky.  A series of  studies belongs to   P.V. Basinsky   on  phenomenology of the life and work of Leo Tolstoy, among them: "Leo Tolstoy. Escape from Paradise "(2010)," in the shadow of Leo the Lion "(2015)," Leo Tolstoy. Free man »(2017).

During the meeting the participants discussed the following issues: Leo Tolstoy and the modern historical and literary process; Tolstoy's tradition in modern prose; Leo Tolstoy and the strategy of literary criticism and journalism; Leo Tolstoy in the modern cinematograph of Russia and the world, and others.

Famous Russian and Tatar writers of Tatarstan, literary critics, teachers and students of the Kazan Federal University took part in the roundtable.
