In the capital of Bulgaria the exhibition "Wheel of Friendship" from the funds of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve has opened

June 1, 2018 at the Russian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia (Bulgaria), the opening of the exhibition "Wheel of Friendship" from the funds of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve (ESMR) took place. The event was held within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria.

A welcoming speech has been  made by  cultural adviser of the Russian embassy in Bulgaria Alexei Novoselov and  deputy head of the Russian Cultural Center Natalia Eremina. Yelabuga was represented at the opening by the Deputy General Director of the ESMR for scientific work, Alexander Degotkov, and  deputy director general for Accounting and Securing of Funds Marina Zharkovskaya.

The exposition presents a unique collection of the best works of participants of international ethno-art projects, which the museum-preserve has been conducting on Elabuga land since 2006 with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Russia and Tatarstan. For 12 years, ESMR has conducted 20 such projects, about 700 artists from 21 countries participated: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Hungary, Dagestan, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Great Britain.

The exhibition "Wheel of Friendship" introduces 83 works of  ethnic orientation, created by artists from 16 countries. The main idea of ​​the exposition is to collect works of representatives of different peoples living in the territory of multinational Russia within the framework of one project.

The first visitors to the exposition on the Children's Protection Day were schoolchildren in Sofia.

The exhibition will run until June 15.
