Dear workers of libraries! Dear readers!

I congratulate you on the professional holiday - the All-Russian Day of Libraries.

At all times a library has been the center of the storage of an invaluable cultural and scientific heritage, accumulated over the centuries. Thanks to the book depositories, up to the present day invaluable information about the history of mankind has survived, the experience of many generations has been preserved. The book fund of the republic's public libraries has more than 23 million books.

Today, the library community is at the center of large and serious transformations. During the development of the digital economy, more and more attention has been paid to the use of modern information and telecommunication technologies. More than 94 percent of the republic's public libraries are connected to the Internet, and the National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan is actively developing.

I am sure that the library as the most important component of the culture of all mankind should become a point of intellectual growth of the individual, an educational center, a unique platform for discussions, creativity, a demanded place for leisure and information education.

I wish new initiatives, creative success, interesting and promising projects. Health and well-being!
