At the spectator's view for the first time will be exhibited works from the museum's funds, which have never been exhibited.

The State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan is invited to the National Art Gallery "Khazine" at 4 pm on May 24 at the opening of the exhibition "After Thaw. Art of the 1970 - 1980s "from the collections of the National  Museum of the RT.

The art of the "post-thaw" era is the seventies and eighties of the last century - an important stage in the development of Russian art, when the artistic life in Russia was distinguished by a great stylistic variety and increased activity.

The collection of paintings of the second half of the 20th century in the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan absorbed an extensive collection of works by artists from the former Soviet Union, including the Tatarstan, from the ROSIZO funds, which resulted in the formation of a very diverse collection of stylistics. In 2016, the collection of the museum was strengthened by the gift from  the Foundation of Timchenko, to which about one hundred works were transferred , where the most striking names of the artistic environment of the post-war period are presented.

At the viewer's look for the first time will be exhibited works from the museum's funds, which have never been exhibited. The main picture of the exhibition is the work of the Soviet artist Yuri Korolev - a well-known author of the artistic space theme - "Portrait of Leonid Brezhnev" in 1981. "Creator" of the era of "stagnation" is depicted in the style of pop art - the great head of the leader seems to float in the sky, and the entourage for it  are the unchanging tribune and microphones. Socially sharpened image told the viewer much about the essence of the party figure.

Also,  for the first time will be shown cartoons on the famous Soviet Tatarstan artists the most "severe" master of military themes, Alexander Rodionov. A coherent, precise satire, unexpectedly funny, will show the interrelations of the artists of the Tatar Soviet Socialist Republic.

For the first time, the work of well-known Soviet unofficial artists whose works are rare in Russian museums - A. Sitnikov, A. Vasnetsov, E. Strulev, A. Dyukov, Y. Rysukhin, and others - is the first "withdrawn from the stock". It was their creativity that  made  a parallel artistic world .

To create an atmosphere of time will be records, magazines, books of that time from private collections and video chronicles of Soviet Tatarstan.

A feature of the exhibition "After the thaw" is the exposure of Tatarstan painting together with the all-Union art. The late Soviet art of Tatarstan was never shown in our museum exposition in this context. This enables the viewer to compare the art of the Tatarstan region against the general background, and to understand its features, advantages and disadvantages.

The exhibition will run until September 2, 2018.
