Kazan to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maxim Gorky
March 28 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maxim Gorky. On this day in Kazan, a number of events has been organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Museum of A.M. Gorky and F.I. Shalyapin.
At 12.00 a solemn laying of flowers to the bust of A.M. Gorky will take place with the participation of representatives of the creative intelligentsia of Kazan, employees of museums, as well as the Regional Youth Public Organization "Center for Cultures and Dialogue".
During the day, the Museum of A. Gorky and F. Shalyapin will conduct thematic excursions and demonstrate films about the life and creative heritage of one of the outstanding representatives of Russian literature of the twentieth century, as well as excerpts from the screen versions of his works.
At 14.00 on the central porch of the museum the literary program "Burevestnik. Reload "under the dierction of the famous Kazan writer, playwright and poet Boris Weiner, who recently heads the M. Zaretsky Literary Association under the Museum of A.Gorky and F.I. Shalyapin.
At 15.00, a solemn ceremony of cancelling postage stamp issued on the anniversary date will be held. In total, the Republic of Tatarstan will receive 300 blocks of stamps depicting the writer. In addition, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding Russian writer in Kazan, a special stamp cancelling has been made.
At 16.00, there will be a gala evening in the museum - "Gorky among us". The name of the event was chosen by analogy with Konstantin Fedin's famous book "Gorky among us", which tells about the role of Alexei Maksimovich in the life of many Russian writers.
