Today in the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan a discussion of sketches of the future monument to Mikhail Devyataev held

In all, 15 works have been  submitted for the competition. To participate in the selection were invited professional sculptors, architects, persons who have a professional education in the specialty of "monumental and decorative art", as well as relatives of the Hero of the Soviet Union - the son and daughter of Mikhail Devyataev.

The experts did not determine the winner of the competition, however, among the proposed works, several options were marked  that require further development.  Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Airat Sibagatullin, offered to select the most strongest  of them. In addition, to organize the participants of the second round of the competition for the best draft design, meeting with relatives of Mikhail Devyataev, who could tell more about the fate of the legendary pilot and show the family archive.

After a heated discussion, the competitive commission left 4 works, which, after completion, will be able to participate in the second round.

We remind that  an open creative competition for the best draft design of the monument was organized in order to perpetuate the memory of Hero of the Soviet Union, a legendary fighter pilot M.Devyataev. It is carried out by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Department of the All-Russian Creative Public Organization "Union of Artists of Russia" in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The executive committee of the municipal formation of the city of Kazan defined the territory of the River Port as the site of the future monument.
