16 October 2017, Monday

On October 20, 21, the Gabdulla Tukai Atna State Drama Theater will open the new season with the play "Tugan Tufrak" ("Native Land") based on the play of the same name by Tatar playwright Said Shakurov staged by  director Ramil Fazliev, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The play is timed to the 100th anniversary of the birth of S. Shakurov. The play was written in 1969.

The plot is based on the fate of Galina and Arslan. Young people meet during the war on the territory of Ukraine, and after its termination return to Arslan's homeland - to Tatarstan. In Ukraine there is once engaged to Galina Igor, who eventually moves to Kazan. Is war only to blame for the tragic intertwining of human destinies? Is the path that Galina chose to be true? Is it possible to justify Igor, who sacrificed personal happiness for the sake of his beloved? Is it worth all your life to remain faithful to unrequited love? And is not this love for Arslan, ready to give his soul for the sake of his family, suffering? Turning to the fate of women in the postwar years, the playwright in a special way makes you think about patriotism, duty, love and loyalty.
