26 August 2017, Saturday

Dear filmmakers, film workers and industry veterans!

On the Day of Russian Cinema, I express my gratitude to everyone who is involved in the motion picture arts, who instills love for cinema of  the younger generation and those who are involved in  development of the film industry in the Republic of Tatarstan in state institutions and departments.

During the 120-year history of the progressing  of cinematography, mankind has acquired many world-class masterpieces. Luckily, in modern society cinema also continues to be one of the most popular types of art.

Today we can safely call the Republic of Tatarstan a region attractive to the cinema, a region rich in talented cinematographic cadres. Dozens of film studios are engaged in  creating  cinema, state funds are allocated for the support of film production, great work is being done to identify talented youth, film distribution is reviving, cinemas are being modernized, and new rural projection facilities are equipped with modern video projection and sound equipment.

Kazan is increasingly gaining the status of a cinematic center and is an exclusive venue in the country, representing a new cinema of the Islamic world to the Russian audience. The Kazan International Muslim Film Festival annually gathers prominent figures in film art, attracts the attention of viewers to the topic of interethnic and interdenominational harmony. Over the years, the festival has achieved the status of one of the authoritative reviews of the national and world cinema.

Dear friends! I cordially congratulate you on the Day of Russian Cinema. Thank you for your enthusiasm, creativity, dedication to the profession and the ability to give people joy. Let  shooting grounds be never empty, director's ideas find their embodiment on the movie screens, but in life everything will be better than in the most beloved comedy.
