In the name of Culture Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat Sibagatullin a letter from Chairman of the Tatar Community "Berlek" Mirslu Arslanova has been received

The author of the letter expresses sincere gratitude for organizing the performance of artists from Tatarstan - Aigul Bariyeva and Rustam Asayev - at Sabantui 2017, which was held on July 9 at  the capital of Ontario, Toronto.

"Sabantuy is the most significant event of the year for   the Berlek society. The festival is held for more than 10 years and gathers up to 200-250 Tatars, Bashkirs and representatives of other nations. Artists from Tatarstan performed at Sabantuy for the first time. We would like to make their performances traditional, as, undoubtedly, the performance of singers Aigul Bariyeva and Rustam Asayev became the main decoration of the holiday this year, "the letter says.

For reference: Tatar communities exist in Toronto, Ontario, and in Montreal, Quebec, the largest of which is the Berlec organization in Toronto, with a registration date of January 19, 2004, entitled "Ontario Berlek Community Services". The mission of the non-core organization Berlek is to help Tatars and their families to adapt more quickly in conditions of immigration and to preserve Tatar identity and national identity in Canada.
