In Kazan, the Iranian blockbuster "Muhammad" is released

On June 25, a series of film screenings of the most expensive blockbuster film "Muhammad-the Son of the Almighty" about the childhood of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad starts at the Mir cinema. Directed by  Majid Majidi.

In  production of a picture, which took ten years to shoot, about 50 million dollars have been  invested. Famous Iranian actors such as Mahdi Pakdel, Alireza Shoja Nuri, Mohsen Tanabandeh were invited to implement a large-scale project. The specialists from other countries also actively participated. For example, the operator Vittorio Storaro, among whose works - three films that won the Oscar, the editor Roberto Perpignani, special effects director Scott Anderson and dozens of other professionals in the field of cinema.

For the filming of the picture, a whole cinematic city of 220 hectares was built near Tehran on the way to Kum. In it, the main part of the shooting took place, because this place was most reminiscent of the landscape of Mecca and Medina of the sixth century. The rest of the shooting took place in the Iranian provinces of Kerman and Bushehr and even in South Africa.

 For reference: the film "Muhammad-the Son of the Most High" became the film-opening of the XII Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.
