In Kazan, the first tour of the Alexandrinsky Theater

From May 30 to June 3, 2017  in Kazan for the first time there will be a tour of one of the oldest drama theaters of Russia - the Russian State Academic Drama Theater named after A. Pushkin (Alexandrinsky Theater). On the Great Stage of the Tatar State Academic Theater  after   G. Kamal will be played performances-laureates of the "Golden Mask" award "Marriage" and "Inspector".

30, May 31, 19.00 - "The  Inspector General", N.V. Gogol.  Director  Valery Fokin. Comedy with one intermission based on the scenic version of the Vs. Meyerhold and M. Korenev (GOSTIM, 1926). The performance is a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, the Russian National Theater Award "GOLDEN MASK" and the Higher Theater Award of St. Petersburg "GOLD SOFIT". Valery Fokin, who is rightly considered one of the best connoisseurs of creativity of  N.V. Gogol, turns to the "The Inspector  General" for the third time. However, his Alexandrinsky project is a special  one. It was on this scene that the immortal Gogol’s comedy was first introduced on April 19, 1836, and N.V. Gogol himself took an active part in  preparation of that legendary performance. The current production is the tenth Alexandrinsky version of the Revizor (Inspector).

June 2, 3, 19.00 - "The Marriage", N.V. Gogol.  Director  Valery Fokin. The performance is a laureate of the Russian National Theater Award "GOLDEN MASK" in  nominations "Best Director's Work" and "Best Artist's Work". The stage life of Nikolai Gogol's comedy "Marriage" began on the Alexandrinsky stage exactly 170 years ago. In that premiere performance, the role of Podkolesin was played  by the great Russian actor Alexander Martynov. And since that time, along with the "Inspector", "Marriage" has traditionally adorned the playbill of the Alexandrinsky Theater. Interpretations of Gogol's plays always determined the creative structure of the theater's troupe, has become a programmatic ones.  "The Marriage", after "The Inspector General", the artistic director of the Alexandrinsky stage Valery Fokin  addressed, for whom Gogol's work has been a source of inspiration for many years. The current production was created on the eve of the writer's 200th anniversary.
