May 27 in Kazan the international festival named after S. Rakhmaninov "White Lilac" opens

The "White Lilac" - an annual festival on memory of the great Russian composer, pianist and conductor Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninov, initiated by the chief conductor and art director of the State Radio Company of the Republic of Tatarstan, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Sladkovsky in 2011. An outstanding pianist and public figure, People's Artist of Russia, art director of the Rachmaninov Foundation Denis Matsuev played a significant role in  creating  and popularization of the "White Lilac" festival.

 For six years, outstanding Russian and foreign musicians - Mikhail Pletnev, Nikolai Lugansky, Boris Berezovsky, Vadim Holodenko, Dmitry Masliev, Ramzi Iassa (France-Egypt), Frederic Kempf (Great Britain), Polina Osetinskaya, Maxim Mogilevsky, conductors - Vladimir Fedoseev, Christian Jarvi (Estonia - USA), Daniele Rustioni (Italy) have takesn part.

This year we are waiting for our friends, brilliant musicians, among them pianists Denis Matsuev, Barry Douglas (Great Britain), Valentina Lisitsa (USA), young talents, laureates of the international Grand Piano Competition - Ivan Bessonov, George Harlionau (Great Britain), Sandro Nebieridze (Georgia), as well as conductors - Jurek Dybau (Poland) and Cesar Alvarez (Spain).

One of the premieres of the recent history of Tatarstan's State Orchestra will be the performance of the poem "Bells" by S.V. Rakhmaninov, in which the soloist of the Moscow Academic Music Theater named after K. Stanislavsky and V.I. Nemirovich Danchenko - Natalia Muradymova, soloists of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia - Maxim Pasteur and Petr Migunov, as well as the Choir of students of the Kazan State Conservatory after  N. Zhiganov under the direction  of V. Lukyanov will take part.
