Astrakhan hosts Federal Sabantui -2017

People's festivities are held at the Central Stadium of Foot ball Club  "Volgar".

The opening ceremony of the Federal Sabantuy was attended by  President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and  Governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin.

Having greeted the guests, the Governor presented state awards to the members of the  National Culture Society "Dyslyk" for their great contribution to  preservation of the national culture and  establishing  the interethnic peace in the Astrakhan region. Several cultural figures have been  awarded  Diplomas of Honor.

The President of the Republic also thanked  the  National Culture Society "Duslyk" and the Gabdulla Tukai  School for the preservation and development of the Tatar language and culture. A   minibus  was gift to its  pupils. Chairman of the organization "Duslyk" Anver Almaev was awarded the title of "Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan." In addition, the title of "Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan" was given to associate professor of solo singing at the Kazan Institute of Culture and Arts Albina Kustyaeva.

Director of the Gabdulla Tukai  school thanked the leadership of the republic for the bus, as well as the unique exhibition that was presented to the educational institution the day before and will become its pride. It presents photographs of the stay of the great Tatar poet in Astrakhan, views of the city at the beginning of the 20th century. Of particular value is a photocopy of the map of the Volga River, made by the German traveler Adam Olearius in 1659.

A great interest of the guests at the festival was caused by the "Tatar Compound", which was organized by the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District.

In Sabantui itself, according to organizers, more than 18 thousand people are  taking  part. Guests came from 40 regions of Russia. Traditionally,  folk games and contests, wrestling competitions on belts "Koresh" have been organized. The main prize of Sabantui - a sheep and a car are prepared for a winner.

During his communication with the media, Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated  level of Sabantuy's organization. "Very hospitable region. The event is organized in the very center of the city, clean, convenient, all security measures are provided. This is a federal holiday and everything went on at the proper level, " President of the Republic of Tatarstan underscored, adding that next year the Federal Sabantuy will be held in Chuvashia.
