The applications for the III All-Russian competition "Cultural mosaic of small towns and villages" launched

Тhe "Cultural mosaic of small towns and villages" - a large-scale project, aimed at supporting cultural initiatives in the Russian remote areas. It is held by the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charity Fund with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation throughout the Russian Federation. Non-profit organizations, as well as state and municipal cultural institutions are invited to participate.

The open competition was held in 2014 and 2015. In 2015 and 2016, the accent was made on the further development of winning projects: the "Best of the Best" contests for the winners of the All-Russian stage of the 2014 contest and "Cultural mosaic: partner network" for laureates of 2015 were organized. During this time, over 3,500 applications were submitted, 233 initiatives from 63 regions of Russia received support in the amount of more than 100 million rubles: gastronomic, music and landscape festivals, theater tours, walking tours, restored crafts,   open readings, educational programs , exhibitions and master classes.
The III All-Russian competition "Cultural mosaic of small towns and villages" is aimed at supporting sociocultural projects in which it is expected to involve residents interested in the development of their small homeland. Particular attention will be paid to projects aimed at children and youth audiences.

At the same time, the project welcomes:

 • Orientation on the formation of sociocultural activity on the basis of projects / organizations "centers of attraction" on the territory capable of involving local residents and, first of all, the children's and young people's audience in the transformation of their territories;

 • Focus on the formation / revival of the identity of small towns and villages, preservation and actualization of cultural heritage;

 • Development of the creative potential of the residents, primarily the youth and youth audience, the emergence of new skills and competencies; Assistance in improving  quality and diversity of the cultural life of small towns and villages;

 • Initiation of various forms of interaction - interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, interregional, etc., capable of proposing models of network interaction for the development of their and neighboring territories by means of culture.

The maximum amount of funding for a project is 700,000 rubles.

The contest is held in two stages. To ensure openness and transparency in the selection of winners in each federal district, an expert council is formed. It  examines the submitted documents at the 1st stage and at the 2nd stage of the Competition, and also decides on  semi-finalists and winners.

To participate in the 1st stage, the participant must submit a Project Proposal. Only one Project proposal is accepted from one participating organization.

Applications will be accepted until May 2, 2017. Semifinalists of the III All-Russian competition "Cultural mosaic of small towns and villages" will be selected by the expert jury and announced on May 24, 2017, after which a series of training seminars will be held to finalize the projects. The announcement of the winners will be held on July 17, 2017.
