Speaks ... dictionary of Ganiev

In Kazan, the Russian-Tatar dictionary of Fuat Ganiev  has been voiced. An outstanding scientist, who made an invaluable contribution to the study, preservation and development of the Tatar language, passed away  a year ago, on February 28, 2016. But the work of his whole life - the compilation of dictionaries was continued by the collective of the Tatar Children's Publishing House already on the Internet.

At the moment the online dictionary includes more than 30 thousand words. Their translation can not only be read, but also heard. The authors of the project are sure that the new version of the publication will be in demand both by professionals and by those who are just starting to study the Tatar language. "Our duty is to bring the invaluable scientific heritage of Fuat Ashrafovich to all Internet users who are interested in the Tatar language, to make the process of its study easy and exciting. We are grateful for implementing  this project to the collective of the Tatar Children's Publishing House, whose editor-in-chief and ideological inspirer was F.A.  Ganiev," the grandson of the scientist Azat Ganiyev said.

 F.A.  Ganiev is a prominent linguist-turkologist, widely known in Turkic studies for his fundamental works. Ganiev owns original studies on word formation and grammar of the Tatar language. He is the author of two global projects - "The Law of the Republic of Tatarstan on the languages ​​of the peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan" and "The State Program for the Preservation, Study and Development of the Languages ​​of the Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan".

F.A.  Ganiev is the author of more than 350 scientific papers, including 24 monographs.

F.A. Ganiev is the creator (in co-authorship) and  head of such capital dictionaries as the one-volume "Russian-Tatar Dictionary", "Tatar-Russian Dictionary", "Three-volume Dictionary of the Tatar Language" and many others. These books are published in a total circulation of more than 600 thousand copies.

The scholar  was awarded  honorary titles: "Honored Worker of Science of the Republic of Tatarstan" (1989) and "Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation" (1996); Laureate of the State Award  in the field of science and technology of the Republic of Tatarstan (1994). For achievements in the field of scientific research, F.A. Ganiev was awarded several state medals.
