Unveiling of the monument to the Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus’, Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church Andrian (A.G.Chetvergov)

Today,  December  6,  2016, the grand unveiling  of the monument to the Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus’,  ROOBC Andrian (A.G.Chetvergov) on the square at the intersection  streets   Petersburgskaya, Ulyanov-Lenin and  Staroobryadcheskaya   in front of the Cathedral  of ROOBC in Kazan  has been held.

President R .N. Minnikhanov after a meeting with Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus’, Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church Corneliy (K.I. Titov) and representatives of the Kazan-Vyatka diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church (ROOBC) supported the proposal of perpetuating the memory of Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus’, Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church Andrian (A.G.Chetvergov). The initiator of the monument installing   to  Andrian (A.G.Chetvergov)  became  the  Kazan-Vyatka Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church.

In the period from   04.01. 2016 to 30.08.2016,   the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan  announced and held an open competition for the best creative conceptual design of the monument  to Andrian  (A.G.Chetvergov).

The location of the monument  has been defined at  the intersection of   streets  Petersburgskaya, Ulyanov-Lenin and the Staroobryadcheskaya   in front of the ROOBC Cathedral  in Kazan.

The total of 8 works  from 6 participants have been submitted:

1) The team of authors from St. Petersburg:  A.A. Novikov,  sculptor, A.A.  Severov  architect,  ( the work № 555) scored 353 points;

2)  The sculptor  V.A.  Demchenko  (the work № 208) scored 258 points  or  the  work № 209  scored 266 points);

3) The creative team  "Irek Piyala":

(the work №  394872 -  sculptor M.V. Baskov, architects K.V. Ashikhmin,  A.V. Shipunov, -I gained 471 points,

The work № 148236 - sculptors  L.A. Semikopenko,  I.V. Gureev,  architects  K.V. Ashikhmin,  A.V. Shipunov) - gained 348 points;

4) Sculptor  F.A. Valiullin  ( the work №) scored 252 points;

5) Authors:  A.A.  Dresvyannikov,  sculptor, architect T.V. Avksentyev (  the work №  358) scored 340 points;

6) Design Team: A.K. Kislov,  sculptor, architect T.V. Avksentyev ( the work №  334) scored 257 points.

As a result of the competitive commission the winner of the contest for the best conceptual design of the monument   the work by  the creative team of "Irek-Pyyala" (the work №  394872 - sculptor Mikhail Baskakov, architects  K.V. Ashikhmin,  A.V. Shipunov), gaining 471 points  has been detrmined.

Results of the competition were announced July 8, 2016 at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of artists, art historians, architects, monumentalists  and representatives from Kazan, Vyatka diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church and a relatives of Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus’, ROOBC   Adrian (A.G.Chetvergov) -  father  Gennady  (Chetvergov).

The  OOO  "Irek-pyyala" has been  created as a division of ANO  "Creative Union of Artists of the Republic of Tatarstan  workshop" Irek ", one of whose founders was the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan  I.N.Bashmakov. This  workshop   enjoys  a sufficient experience in the implementation of works of art, as it works with highly skilled artists, sculptors as the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as with professionals of Russia’s Artists Union.
