Residents of Tatarstan scored the highest average score on the "Big ethnographic dictation"

According to the Big ethnographic dictation, held October 4 in all 85 regions of the Russian Federation, the highest average score (81.3 out of 100) turned out to residents of Tatarstan. Among  the three leaders also included: Kabardino-Balkar Republic (73.8) and the Smolensk region (71.9).  The lowest average score obtained  the Amur region (39).

Average score for the dictation in the country - 54 points out of a possible 100.

The purpose of the dictation was to assess the level of ethnographic literacy, knowledge of the peoples living in Russia, and drawing attention to ethnography as a science.

We  remind  that the "Big ethnographic dictation" was held on October 4 in all 85 regions of Russia. The participants of the action were almost 90 thousand people at 800 sites of  Russia from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, from Anadyr to Sevastopol and two foreign countries - in Turkey and Switzerland. Of these, 35 thousand people attended in person, and more than 50 thousand wrote  dictation www.miretno.ru online on the website.

The headquarters of the "Big ethnographic dictation"  has been processing the results for  a month. Of particular interest to the dictation showed the fair half of mankind - among the participants, almost 75% of women. The most correct answers  gave residents living in the national republics.

"The results of the dictation clearly demonstrated that the issues of the history and traditions of peoples Russia needs to focus on. We plan to discuss these results with colleagues from the expert community of the Russian Ministry of Education and to give greater importance to this subject. I think that would be in addition to the traditional " The Lesson of Peace "which takes place on the Day of knowledge, September 1, carried out at  schools,  the  lesson" Peoples of Russia ". And it is desirable that these lessons should  have become regular,." - commented on the results of the Big ethnographic dictation head of the Federal agency for nationalities Igor Barinov.

This event will become a tradition and stand on a par with other all-Russian events such as "Geographical dictation" and "Total dictation".

The organizers - the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of the National policy of the Republic of Udmurtiay,  the autonomous non-profit organization "Assembly of peoples of Udmurtia" with the support of the Russian public organization "Association of Anthropologists and ethnologists."
