25 October 2016, Tuesday

October 24,  at the Exhibition Hall "Manege"   of the Museum-Reserve "Kazan Kremlin", an  exhibition "Journey to Tukai", dedicated to the final year of the 130th anniversary of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai opened.

What Tukai   means Tukai for each of us? Fairy tales, familiar from childhood, poetry, which embodied the soul of the Tatar people, the bright world of national traditions and eternal dialogue with  the native land, love. The museum showcases already familiar belonged to the poet inkwell, skullcap, wicker  road  basket. But, referring to the memorial objects, picking up a book, each one of us opens his  own Tukai.

"This is a significant event in the cultural life of Tatarstan, - said the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Sibagatullin. – having familiarized with the exhibition, I realized that we know Tukai, but not enough. I would like this exhibition  to be attended by  our children, pupils, students and residents of the Republic. "

Director of the Museum-Reserve "Kazan Kremlin" Zilia Valeeva thanked   all those who helped in  creating   the exhibition  : "Tukai left us a whole world of Tatar encyclopedia of life, but the things that belonged to him personally, you almost see   all of them  here. They are few, but more interesting, I think, to consider it, to delve in order to understand how,  nevertheless,  intense, fiercely this young man  lived. "

One of the novelties  of the  exhibition were six handwritten sheets with poems by G. Tukai. Back in the 1960s, they were combined in a notebook, using alkaline glue, which gives  a strong impact on the paper. For a long time, so as not to further harm the precious pages,  only a cover of notebook was shown. Especially, for the exhibition,  a millimeter after millimeter, under the microscope,  restorers removed from the surface   adhesive film, restored sheets. Now they can be seen  by  everyone.

During the life of Tukai deserved a real people's love and fame. You can see his lifetime editions, including collections of poems, prose, children's stories, articles from magazines and newspapers, and see how much fruitful worked  a young poet. According to the adviser of the general director of the Russian National Library Anton Likhomanov in the preparation of the exhibition was found a unique book of  1908.  The collection of poems and short stories by  G. Tukai  "Zabava " - a unique lifetime edition of the poet's works, which has color illustrations.

Half a century after Tukai’s   death,     his  verses appeared  on   Anna Akhmatova’s table. "Of our own I surely translate ..." -    replied    a poetess  to the request for translation of his poems into Russian. This response might be linked with  her  eastern roots, but, perhaps in verses by  G. Tukai  A.  Akhmatova found a harmony, a reflection of her  own thoughts, feelings, emotions ... At  the  exhibition public is    presents for the first time eleven sheets with her handwritten translations from the collection of the National Library. They are interesting not only as  reverently  one great author was working on  brilliant poems  of another. Those translations, which are indicated in the collections  and   signed by A.  Akhmatova do not always coincide with her handwritten originals. There were times when even the poetess was tightly edited.

Illustrations to fairy tales and poems   by Tukai have been   created by many artists. A represented in the exhibition book "What I remember about myself" ( "Isemda kalgannar)", written by the poet in 1909,  was  illustrated by the young artist Guzel Garipova. With  the graphic novel created  by her,   on can make a trip with Tukay in his childhood, to   St. Petersburg, Astrakhan and Kazan. Using computer technology, it was able to "revive" the rare photographs of Tukai.

The unique spiritual atmosphere of the opening ceremony gave Tukai poems  performed  by distinguished artists of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan,  winners of the   G. Tukai   State Prize   Ildus Akhmetzyanova,  Naila Dunayeva and songs based on the works  by Tukai   performed by the orchestra  "Sforzando".
