October 24, opening of the VI International Festival of Contemporary Music named after Sofia Gubaidulina «Concordia» to take place

From October 24 to November 5, the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan  directed by Alexander Sladkovsky the sixth time  in Kazan will acquaint residents with the music of famous composers of our time on the «VI International Festival of Contemporary Music named after Sofia Gubaidulina Concordia». For four nights State Grand Concert Hall of  after  S.Saydashev will be the main venue of performing  by   prime and unique works of contemporary music.

Opening the festival will be marked by the first performance in Kazan, one of the most famous works of Arthur Honegger "Joan of Arc at the stake." In literary and musical production, prepared by the artistic director of the festival Alexander Sladkovsky,  by Maestro invitation People’s artist of Russia  Chulpan Khamatova,   actors Ilya Glinnikov,  Mark Burlai and Arseniy Topolaga, opera soloists Nadezhda Gulitskaya (soprano), Pauline Shamaeva (mezzo-soprano) Vyacheslav Vorobyov (tenor), Paul Czerwinski (bass), Grand choir "Masters of choral singing",  Russian state music TV Rafio center   run by  Lev Kontorovich will take part. Dramatic oratorio "Joan of Arc at the stake" will be able to enjoy not only the Kazan audience. October 26,  for the Moscow music lovers maestro  Sladkovsky  will perform it with the same artistic composition at the Concert Hall after P. Tchaikovsky. This event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation.
