From 26 to 30 September 2016 Kazan will host the II International Festival of Puppet Theatres "Shombai-fest - 2016"

From 26 to 30 September 2016 the  II International Festival of Puppet Theatres "Shombai-fest - 2016"  will  take place in Kazan.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and Tatar State Puppet Theatre "Ekiyat".

Shombai – a well -known and popular character of Tatar folklore, who occupies a special place in the theater arts, along with Petrushka and other characters of street theater. One of the main tasks of the organizers of the festival - to give viewers the opportunity to get acquainted with the diversity of the world of puppetry.

Their mastership  at the festival of puppet theaters will show from 14 puppet theatres from  Brest, Vitebsk (Belarus), Ashgabat (Turkmenistan Republic) Neryungri (Republic of Sakha, Yakutia), Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Vladimir, etc.
