September 3, the city of Chelyabinsk hosted the international beauty and talent contest "Tatar kyzy-2016." The ceremony of awarding the winners t Tatarstan delegation headed by Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part.
Popularity of the contest is growing every year, this year it was attended by women from 17 regions of the country and two foreign countries, thereby increasing the level of “Tatar kyzy” to an international level. "Tatar kyzy" has become a kind of region’s visiting card, people liked it: the tickets for the seven thousandth audience of the Ice Arena have been sold out in a matter of days.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Farid Mukhametshin read out the welcome address from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov designated for the participants. It marks that "competition has become one of the significant events in a cultural life of the Tatars, and plays an important role in increasing the interest of young generations to its historical roots and cultural origins."
This year's competition is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai, his poems were heard throughout the evening, and among special guests there were Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Dina Garipova and People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan Aidar Galimov.
The most beautiful and talented Tatar girl became Edelweiss Iskhanova from Bashkortostan. The winner was determined by a competent jury, which consisted of creative intelligentsia, artists, representatives of the Ministries of Culture of Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk. Head of the girl has been graced by an elegant crown made by Zlatoust masters.
Farid Mukhametshin awarded the winner, handing her the grand prize - a gift from the President of Tatarstan – the key to a new car.
He introduced the organizers of the competition an offer to hold a final stage of the competition in the region, which is a home to the girl, having won the competition. According to Chairman of the State Council, it would lead to the expansion of the geography of the competition and increase the number of participants.
Tatarstan was represented at the competition by Elvina Nazipova from Kazan. The prize in a nomination "Miss Perfection" she received from the hands of Chairman of the Board of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov, and she also was awarded for an excellent knowledge of the Tatar language. Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Sibagatullin awarded Adel Zagidullina from St. Petersburg in a nomination "Miss sonorous voice."
The organizers expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky for the assistance and support given to the many projects aimed at the development of the Tatar national culture and traditions of the Tatar people.
A colorful ceremony ended by singing the song "Tugan Tel", which the audience sang standing as the anthem of the Tatar people.
