In Kazan, the II Republican festival of ethnic and confessional "Mosaic of Cultures" took place

Today in Kazan, near the Family Center, "Kazan", the II Republican festival of ethnic and confessional "Mosaic of Cultures" has taken place.

The main purpose of the festival - to acquaint residents and visitors with a rich ethnic and religious culture of Tatarstan. This year the festival compared to the previous  is  passing  on a larger scale. On the green zone at the  Family Center "Kazan"   two scenes were installed:  large and small  ones. Also, on the  site  12 mini-tents were located  dedicated to different topics.  Here  national costumes of different nations, dolls, paintings, books, pottery and ceramics were presented  - all by what nations living in Tatarstan are rich. Several tents devoted to religious culture.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with the participants and guests of the event.  He was accompanied by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Sibagatullin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, representatives of traditional faiths.

Upon arrival to the holiday site Rustam Minnikhanov visited the exhibition "Religion, as a part of the culture." The exhibition included various presentations and  exhibitions, the works by  restorers of icons and Russian art, shamails, books on the Orthodox, Islamic and other religious cultures, master classes on icon painting and calligraphy.

In  specialized tents Tatarstan President got acquainted with the exhibition of national costumes, fairs, shows of  arts and crafts, master-classes on crafts for pottery and blacksmith's craft, basket plaiting,  gold sewing.

Rustam Minnikhanov also watched the performances    by  creative groups from Austria, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tuva (Russia).

Speaking on the big stage, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan attaches great importance to strengthening the positive inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relations. "Today, the festival is attended by representatives of a number of ethnic groups living in our republic. In addition, we were visited by the guests from other regions of Russia and various countries. I want to congratulate you all on the Republic Day and wish that we continue to live in peace and harmony ", - said the President of Tatarstan.

The concert program is divided into three parts. From morning to afternoon performed  about 40 folk groups from all over the Republic of Tatarstan. After that,   time has come  for spiritual  music, where one  could   hear the Orthodox, Muslim, Lutheran and Jewish motifs. Later,  in the afternoon,  - contemporary music, made by youth groups of different genres.

A special guest of the festival became  the  Austrian   group  "GramArtMyuzik". The team in bright vests, breeches and national headdresses sang  merry  popular hits. playing the trumpet, tuba, accordion, trombone and harp. The audience, in spite of the rain, actively supported the musicians, dancing to their tunes.

Unusual was the performance by  the team from Uzbekistan "Karnay karnay". Musicians played brilliantly on the national brass karnay - two-meter tube. The audience was particularly impressed  when the band played  karnay holding  it in an upright position without using their hands.

Unusual guests of the festival were also vocal and choreographic collective "Terra" from Kazakhstan, who brought a program of folk dance group "Chirgilchin" from the Republic of Tuva, using the technique of throat singing.

Creative groups who came to the festival, became the participants of  dance flash mob. By constantly changing motifs they by  turn performed dances of different peoples living in the republic.

Also, today,  for the first time a parade of Houses of friendship of the peoples of Tatarstan. On the small stage  artists and collectives of Houses of friendship formKazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Tetyushi, Nizhnekamsk, Mendeleevsk, Nurlat and Leninogorosk  have  performed.
