New members of the Jewish festival will be acquainted with the language of Sephardic and music of the Balkans

The participants of the V International Festival of Jewish music will become  around 50 invited performers. Among them, a group  «AHAVA» (Kazakhstan) and the ensemble «Grand Positive» (Yaroslavl). Both groups will arrive in Kazan for the first time.

«AHAVA» Group of Karaganda performs  a folk soaked in the spirit of history, Jewish music and contemporary Israeli pop, rock and folk. "It can not be expressed   by  words that inner force that brings Jewish music. Melody, beauty, light, life! "-   the ensemble members explain their creative range. The group consists of professional musicians,  with a fine sense of the nature of popular works and their national character. The band has toured extensively with the purpose of development and cultural enrichment of the Jewish communities of different cities and countries.

It is noteworthy that the group «AHAVA» is the only team in Kazakhstan, performing Israeli pop, rock and folk- music.

The ensemble's repertoire includes both popular Israeli songs, and little known - in Hebrew and Ladino (a kind of Hebrew, the language of Sephardic Jews), as the band performs instrumental music in their own arrangements.

The duo of Yaroslavl «Grand Positive» is a violin ensemble (Boris Itskovich) and guitars (Alex Golovitsyn).

Musicians perform unique examples of Word music these are: the musical heritage of Eastern European Jews - klezmer music (Klezmer music); Music of itinerant musicians of Romania and Moldova - lautarskaya music (Lautar music); festive, dance gypsy and Balkan music (Gypsy & Balcan music), which every time makes the listener to dance and enjoy the beauty of rhythm and melody.
