Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan and Tyva Republic enjoy a lot of opportunities for cooperation

Tatarstan and Tyva Republic enjoy  a lot of opportunities for cooperation. This Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at a meeting with the acting head of the Republic of Tyva Sholban Kara-ool.

The meeting was held within the framework of the working visit of Tatarstan delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov to  Kyzyl (Tuva). Tatarstan President was accompanied by Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President Asgat Safarov, chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism Sergey Ivanov, First Deputy Minister of Culture Elvira Kamalova, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov, representatives of other departments of the RT.

Greeting the Tatarstan delegation, Sholban Kara-ool noted that the Republic of Tyva is interested in expanding cooperation with Tatarstan. "Today we are the region with the potential for insufficient disclosure. Tatarstan, in turn, holds a leading position in several areas. Republic is well known for the development of petrochemical and oil industries, agriculture, machine-building sector ", - said the head of Tuva.

Sholban Kara-ool turned to the RT President with a request to assist in creating a center of transportation between the cities of Kyzyl and Kazan. Direct flights would solve a number of problems related to the territorial remoteness of Tuva and contribute to a more fruitful development of trade and economic cooperation with Tatarstan, he added.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Sholban Kara-ool for the excellent organization of the visit of Tatarstan delegation to the Republic of Tyva. We visit with great interest your region, characterized by its unique nature and culture, said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tuva, like Tatarstan - a multinational republic.  The regions have much in common: Tuva and Tatars are a Turkic group of peoples, their languages ​​are similar and some national traditions.

Tatarstan President said that in the economic development of Tuva, in addition to mining and agriculture, tourism is of great importance. He recalled that on the eve of Tatarstan delegation during a working visit to Khakassia took part in the international forum "Historical and cultural heritage as a resource for social and cultural development." I am sure that your vast area of ​​protected sites will  be able to fully develop their potential, said Tatarstan President.

The main role in this process, according to him, should be carried out to play in Tuva with the support of the country's leaders,  work to develop the region's transport infrastructure (reconstruction of the airport, construction of the railway, highway connection with Mongolia).

Tatarstan has a wide experience of infrastructure development and work with investors, said the President of Tatarstan, we could share our  experience with Tuva colleagues.

Rustam Minnikhanov admitted that while trade and economic relations need serious development (in 2014 the trade turnover amounted to 6.5 mln. Rubles). He agreed with Sholban Kara-ool is that representatives of Tatarstan and Tuva businesses need to meet more often and to organize joint activities.

Among the promising areas of cooperation RT President highlighted the sphere of culture, tourism and education.

"I believe our meeting on Tuvan land will serve expansion of cooperation", - said Rustam Minnikhanov.
