June 3, 2016, at 14.00pm, the exhibition by academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Konstantin Petrov will take place at the National Art Gallery "Hazine".
Konstantin V. Petrov - graphic artist, painter, Honored Artist of Russia (2005), awarded the Order of "Friendship" (2011), full member (2009) and member of the Russian Academy of Arts of the Presidium (2013), vice president of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (1999) , member of the Union of artists of Russia, member of the Moscow Union of artists, a member of the expert Council of artists Studios of the RF Interior Ministry after V.V. Vereshchagin (Moscow).
Born in 1964 in Smolensk in the family of the artist and art historian. Graduated Moscow State Academy of Artistic Art after V.I. Surikov, then lived and worked in Spain. Early introduced himself as an original master, having its own imaginative vision and visual language. He actively participates in the most prestigious art exhibitions, trying his hand at various techniques, forms, genres of art, preferring easel, unique graphics and painting. The favorite artist’s materials are watercolor and pastel, in which he feels most relaxed, easy and free. Defined priorities genre - landscapes and still life, although originally manifests himself in a portrait. Works by Konstantin Petrov enjoy some romantic illusory, in spite of awareness of specific places where they were painted. Works in this technique enjor a special characteristic of transparency, giving them an amazing emotional intonation and musicality. Works K.V. Petrov are represented in many museum collections in our country and abroad. The exhibition has collected 50 works of Konstantin Petrov, a 25-year period of his creative activity (1992-2016), representing the major cycles of works: a series of still-life portraits of contemporaries, a series of watercolors dedicated to Moscow, Derbent, Bratislava, central Russia, Russian monasteries and clergy. A large series of works devoted to Spain.
The exhibition is organized under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Arts and its Volga Department, the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, MSAAAI after V.I. Surikov.
At the grand opening of the exhibition a press screening for the media with the participation of the author and the organizers of the exhibition is planned.
The exhibition will run until July 3, 2016.
