Dear Librarians!

 

 I cordially congratulate you on the All-Russian Day of libraries!

 

This is not only a professional holiday of  bibliographer,  librarian,   it is a celebration of all those,  who love the book.

 

Library - a special cultural space, a center of spiritual and cultural life, a witness to history. The development of reading and publishing, the improvement of the literary process and libraries - all these issues  are always relevant for the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, society as a whole.

 

Tatarstan libraries take an active part in the cultural life of the republic  and keep pace with the times. Projects "Library in the Park", "The Big Book - meeting in the province", "Literary courtyards", "Cultural student blog" contests "Book of the Year", "The reading schoolboy" and many others have become favorite actions of  Tatarstan readers.

 

Today   in the republic are functioning 1539  libraries, 3788 librarians perform the noble mission of preserving the rich book collection and  development   of reading. Through the program "Development of librarianship in the Republic of Tatarstan" library  are  equipped with new furniture and equipment, replenish library funds, adopting new technologies  of  work with the readers. 90% of Tatarstan libraries now have Internet access. The National Electronic Library Republic of Tatarstan  enjoys  more than 4400 digitized books available today to residents of even the most remote regions of Tatarstan.

 

Dear colleagues! Being  guarantors of information competence, you are your readers  bring  high culture, respect for books and the pursuit of knowledge. I wish you new and interesting ideas, rich book funds, grateful readers and confidence in the future. Good health, creative energy and new achievements in the noble profession!
