Kazan will celebrate the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture

On May 24, Russia celebrates the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. Festive events dedicated to the day of memory of the founders of Slavonic alphabet and language, Cyril and Methodius, will be held across the country. The Saints Cyril and Methodius honor all Slavs, so this day is a symbol of the unity of the Slavic peoples, their unbreakable historical ties and common cultural heritage. Participation in a large-scale action takes also Kazan.

A live webcast of the Slavic Written Language Day celebration on Red Square in Moscow will take place on the TV channel "Russia-Culture" May 24 from 13.00. The program is expected to live-inclusion of different cities, including Kazan.

Audience of millions of TV viewers will hear performances   by a combined choir "Singing Tatarstan", which consists of more than 400 participants – students,  children's  from  music schools of Kazan, actors of  RT State Chamber Choir, choirs of    RT State Ensemble of Song and Dance, Kazan State Institute of Culture, Kazan music  college after  I. Auhadeev. The choir "Singing Tatarstan" will perform the song "Motherland hears, the Motherland knows" the music  by  Shostakovich and words   by  E.Dolmatovsky  (soloist - Ilya Bekker, conductor - Milyausha Tamindarova), as well as the song "Together cheerfully to walk" on the music by  V.Shainsky, words by    M.Matusovsky  (conductor - Svetlana Semenova).
