The Center of Sofia Gubaidulina: A Musical Journey with Karl Bryullov

April 20, 2016,  at the  RT State  museum of fine arts   a lecture-concert with a chamber orchestra "New Music" of the Sofia Gubaidulina Center on   subject "Karl Bryullov and music"     took place.

A joint project of the  S. Gubaidullina  Center and the RT SMFA   organically   has  fit into the activities of the recently opened in the  Museum of Fine Arts   of  Culture & Exhibition Centre. The new center  has been  launched with the opening of the exhibition "Karl Bryullov" from the collection of the State Russian Museum. It presents 50 works by  famous painter, including "Self-portrait", "Girl Gathering Grapes in the vicinity of Naples", a sketch of the painting "The Last Days of Pompeii", drawings.

The guests of the Museum of Fine Arts were pupils of school - lyceum №131 Kazan. Continuation of interesting excursions in the exhibition of works by K. Bryullov was a musical journey into the world of art and music. And guys   were accompanied in this journey    by Chamber Orchestra "New Music"  of the Center of Sofia Gubaidulina and artistic director of the Center, musicologist  Leila  Monasypova, who told the audience about the musical tastes and meetings of the  great artist with composers and musicians of his time.

 The orchestra 'New Music'  under the direction of  Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Anna Gulishambarova   sounded works by Russian and foreign composers M. Glinka,  P.Tchaikovsky, A.Lyadov, Zh. Massne and, of course,   the works of   classical contemporary music by  Sofia Gubaidulina.
