From July 1 to 6, 2016, on the stage of G. Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre, big touring of one of the best theaters of Russia - the Moscow theater "Sovremennik (Contemporary)" will be held. In the year of its 60th anniversary in Kazan, the collective will present three famous names from their large repertoire - plays "Three Comrades" by E.M.Remark (1, 2 July) with the participation of virtually all of the troupe (the main roles are played by Svetlana Ivanova, Alexander Khovanskii, Sergei Yushkevich, Sergey Jilin); "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov (3, 4 July) starring with Marina Neelova, Sergei Garmash and Olga Drozdova; "Two on the Seesaw" by W. Gibson (5, 6 July) with Chulpan Khamatova and Kirill Safronov. The tour will take place with the support of the Mayor of Kazan.
All three performances have been staged by outstanding director Galina Volchek, who runs the "Contemporary" more than forty years. Her creative work received numerous honors and awards, but as repeatedly Volchek herself says, her main award - " an overfilled audience hall." Performances by Galina Volchek in the world recognized as authentic specimens developing in time Russian psychological theater.
Moscow theater "Contemporary" was founded by a group of young actors - Oleg Efremov, Galina Volchek, Igor Kvasha, Lilia Tolmacheva, Evgeny Evstigneev, Oleg Tabakov - in 1956. In the years of the "thaw" it was the first theater, born free, creative association of like-minded groups and managed to assert itself as a holistic art collective. The basis of "Contemporary" repertoire has always been and remains a work by contemporary authors.
