March 19, 2016, at the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan opens the first Russian Cultural and Exhibition Center of the State Russian Museum

March 19, 2016, at the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (RT SMFA) opens the first Russian Cultural and Exhibition Center of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg). The opening of the center timed to the birthday of the Russian Museum. March 19, 1898, the country's first state museum of Russian fine art was inaugurated. Today the Russian Museum is not only a unique repository of artistic treasures, but also one of the largest centers of cultural and educational work, scientific and methodological center of art museums of the Russian Federation overseeing the work of 260 art museums in Russia.

Opening in Kazan of Culture & Exhibition Centre is the result of many years of cooperation between the Russian Museum and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Under the federal comprehensive program "Russia" in 2008 in the halls of the RT NM, an exhibition "Arkhip Kuindzhi" from the collection of the Russian Museum and the Information and Educational Center "Russian Museum: Virtual Branch" was opened. On the basis of the RT SMFA in 2011,   the Resource Center of the creative development of children and adolescents with a variety of social and physical abilities was set up. In 2012, the Russian Museum, the RT SMFA prepared an exhibition dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Ivanovich Feshin.

In December 2014, an agreement was signed on cooperation on the project "Russian museum Culture & Exhibition Centre" between the museums.

In the years 2014-2016, in Kazan, successfully a temporary exhibitions of the Russian Museum ("Nicholas Roerich. 1874-1947", "Zinaida Serebryakova", "Invitation to dinner"), as well as educational and awareness programs with the participation of specialists of the Russian Museum has been held.

RT SMFA staff regularly participates  in meetings, courses, seminars and internships organized by the Russian Museum for art museums in the country. On the basis of the museum in Kazan repeatedly conducted training seminars for museum specialists of the Republic of Tatarstan with participation of specialists of the Russian Museum and the international experts.

 

GMII RT actively participates in inter-museum projects of the Russian Museum - virtual exhibitions, publishing collections of articles aimed at popularization of the collections of art museums in the country, and other.

Based on the experience of joint exhibitions and educational projects, the Russian Museum and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan  have developed a program of activities of the  Cultural and Exhibition Centre of the Russian Museum.

The CEC will be located on the territory of the main building of the   RT SMFA in a two-story palace of the manor type, built in the early twentieth century as the residence of the commander of the Kazan Military District, and in the park out-house. Today, the palace - one of the most beautiful buildings in the city center, preserved fence around it - a superb example of artistic chebaksinsky forging.

On  the first stage, a structure   of the Cultural and Exhibition Centre of  the Russian Museum in Kazan will  enter   a permanent exhibition space,  in the halls of the second floor of the Main building of the complex,   and  also  the Information & Educational Center "Russian Museum: Virtual Branch" and the Resource Center for creative development of children with  different social and physical possibilities, located in the park out-house of the palace  are to be spaced.

In the future,   the Culture & Exhibition Centre will be located on the same grounds in a separate building.

March   19, 2016, the  Culture & Exhibition Centre will start with the opening of the exhibition "Karl Bryullov" from the collection of the Russian Museum.  50 works by  famous painter, including "Self-portrait", "Girl Gathering Grapes in the vicinity of Naples", as well as a sketch of the painting "The Last Days of Pompeii" and others - a total of 30 and 20 watercolor paintings  will be presented.

In the future, it is  plan to organize and conduct at  the CEC  one or two temporary exhibitions during a year from the Russian Museum and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Resource Center and Information and Educational Center "Russian Museum: Virtual Branch" will hold  a variety of educational and awareness programs. lectures will be organized for museum professionals, seminars, consultations on various activities, including in online mode. It is also assumed that the center will become a platform for events of   urban and regional scale.

The project "Cultural and Exhibition Centre of the Russian Museum" brings together all areas of cooperation between the Russian Museum and regional museums in the exhibition, and educational activity.

This is a long-term project designed to facilitate the creation of a common cultural and information space in Russia, as well as overcoming the fragmentation between the capitals of museums, large and small cities, ensure citizens' access to cultural values ​​and information resources, using scientific, methodical, organizational and creative potential of the Russian Museum - the largest domestic treasury of art.

The project was prepared in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation №597 of May 7, 2012 "On measures for implementation of the state social policy" and supported by the Board of the Ministry of Culture (MC Decision of Board of the Russian Federation from 28.05.2014).
