Eight times in Tatarstan will take place competition-festival of young performers Kryashen song "Tuym zhondozy" - "Christmas Star".
The founders of the festival: RT Public Kryashens of Republican cultural and educational newspaper Kryashens "Tuganaylar" Center for History, Culture and Tatars Kryashens and Nagaibaks of State Folk Ensemble Kryashens "Bermyanchek."

The VIII contest-festival of young performers of the Kryashen song "Tuym Zhondozy" - "Christmas Star" aims to preserve and promote the best examples of Kryashen musical creativity, revealing original ensembles and soloists, performers of folk music.
History of the festival is very rich, the participants of previous years did not make themselves forgetting and continue their creative way to higher levels. Contestants from different years working in the public folklore ensemble of Kryashens "Bermyanchek", enter the music universities of Tatarstan, sing in other well-known ensembles and represent Kryashens at international competitions and festivals.
In the framework of the VIII Contest-Festival performers of the Kryashen folk song "Tuym zhondozy" - "Christmas Star" a contest of soloists and folk ensembles is held.
The first qualifying rounds were held in 5 regions of Tatarstan: Yelabuga, Kaybitsa, Zainsk, Tchistopol and Kazan. More than twenty towns and districts of Tatarstan sent their soloists and ensembles to participate in the competition. The geography of the festival this year is wide enough: the final qualifying round is scheduled with arrival of soloists and ensembles from Nagaybaksky and Chelyabinsk regions as well as the Bakalinsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Mari El.
January 17, 2016, at the Youth Center "Ak Bars" a final round to be held, the results of which will determine the winners of the contest-festival. The competition is held in seven categories: "Ethnic vocals", "People's vocals", "Folk-pop vocal", "Folklore Ensemble", "Vocal Ensemble", "Vocal-instrumental ensemble" and "Instrumental ensemble."
The winners of the competition program have been awarded the title of Laureate of the contest-festival with the presentation of diplomas.
Position of the festival
Chairman of the jury - Makarov Gennady Mikhailovich - folklorist, Ph.D., a member of the Composers' Union of Russia, associate professor of music and ethnomusicology of the Tatar Kazan Conservatory, Researcher fellow of the Center for the Study of Kryashens and Nagaibaks under the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan.
