Rustam Minnikhanov visited the territory of the Staro-Tatarsky and Novo-Tatarstaky settlements in Kazan
Today President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov have had a look at the restoration works on the territory of the Staro-Tatarsky sloboda(Old Tatar) settlement and issues for the development of the New Tatar settlement in Kazan. He was accompanied by Chief of Staff of the RT President of Asgat Safarov, Assistant to the RT President Olesya Baltusova, Mayor Ilsur Metshin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin, Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin, Procurator Ildous Nafikov, chief architect of Kazan Tatyana Prokofieva and others .
One of the first sites visited by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan became a Kayum Nasyri pedestrian street in the part where the street is into the parking zone. Rustam Minnikhanov proposed traffic police together with the executive committee of Kazan to study options for strengthening the pedestrian part, relocating parking spaces beyond it, as well as explore the possibility of adapting Fatykhov Karim street to parking tourist buses. In summer, on a day, one hundred buses leave tour groups for a walk in the Old Tatar Sloboda, and look for a parking place, Olesya Baltusova clarified.
A further object of residential architecture has become a monument to the "House of Kaushchi". Having built in the late XIX century by a shoe master Kaushchi Karim, after the revolution, the building passed for communal apartments. At the beginning of the 2000 due to an emergency condition last tenants were evicted. Few years architectural monument stood idle and gradually destroyed. Restoration work started here in 2011, the restoration project was carried out by employees of the department of restoration and reconstruction KGASU. According to the author of the project Lyali Saifullina, the wooden part of the house had managed to preserve the original interiors, here a peculiar exposition of life of the 19th century appeared, as well as a workshop of the Kazan artist Marat Yaushev was arranged. The stone part of the building is preparing to open a mini-hotel with 17 rooms. Rustam Minnikhanov visited the gallery rooms of the hotel and talked to the investor.
Next, the President of Tatarstan visited the famous "House of Shamil", built in the mid 19th century. The object of the cultural heritage of the Russian Federation is one of the main attractions of the Old Tatar settlement. Today it is the Literary Museum after G. Tukai. Rustam Minnikhanov familiarized with the exposition and talked about the general condition of the building, many years, requiring repair. Tatarstan President has ordered an examination of the object and develop a new restoration project. It was also instructed to draft a fundamental renovation of the outdated museum exhibition.
During the inspection of Old Tatar settlement Rustam Minnikhanov visited several mosques, which also require restoration. One of them - Azimov Mosque, built in 1881 for the soap factory workers. After the revolution in different years it housed the school of projectionists and the city cinema theater. The initial view of the mosque was returned during the reconstruction in 1992. After 20 years the object again needs restoration work. RT President talked with Hazrat and instructed to study the possibility of repairing the roof according to an existing project restoration.
Another temple of faith, the Novo-Tatarsky sloboda(New-Tatar) mosque, has a very sad face, and requires complete renovation. Currently, instructions were given to conserve the object until further decisions on its restoration.
Next, participants examined the bypass condition of entrance into the old Tatar cemetery of Novo-Kazan Tatar settlement having been formed in the 18th century, which was commissioned to city executive committee to beautify the entrance group and the fence from the Mekhovschikov street. Then moved to the territory of the bank base of the RT Ministry of Interiors on the Volga river, where Rustam Minnikhanov presented a proposal prepared by KGASU development of the area. Tatarstan President noted that this project has been brewing for a long time. He instructed the leadership of the city to meet with the owners of the land and the adjacent objects and to discuss with them the concept of development of the waterfront, and work together with KGASU the project planning area of the Novo- Tatar sloboda.
The final point of the program became bypass the National Cultural Center "Kazan". Rustam Minnikhanov has a look at the museum complex and talked with the administration of the institution. During the presentation of the development project of the NCC "Kazan" it was proposed to link a second entry group with renewed waterfront of Kazanka revier , and implement a long-awaited project of the museum after Fyodor Shaliapin. Tatarstan President supported the idea and proposed to develop the museum not at the expense of interactive boards, but at the cost of the exhibits.
"The whole value of Kazan is in its identity and history. Interactive tools and gadgets are interesting in themselves, but this is temporary. Technology will go forward, and people will always be interested in history and antiques. We need to work on the development of the exhibition ", - Rustam Minnikhanov stressed.
