From November 11 to 15, at the Kazan cinema "Mir" the XVI Festival "New British Cinema" will be held. The festival will be opened by the film "Lobster" - the Grand Prix of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
Opening Film of the Festival - "Lobster", a Grand Prix of the Cannes jury, a brilliant work by Yorgos Lantimosa, attended the star the cast, including Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, Léa Seydoux and Ben Whishaw.
During the festival the audience will be shown the absolute festival hits such as "Brooklyn" on the novel by four-nominee "Booker", Irishman Colm Tóibín, "Lady in the van" - a screwball comedy about a London-old woman with Maggie Smith in the title role, "Just Jim "- black teen comedy from Craig Roberts and the concert film by a super-popular British musician Ed Sheeran. Spectators also will see a program of short films that make films - the nominees of Award British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) for 2015
All films are shown in original language with Russian subtitles
The annual festival "New British Cinema", which the British Council held in conjunction with the art association CoolConnections, introduces viewers across Russia with the best British film award prestigious prizes at the Cannes, Berlin, London and other international festivals. This year it will be held in Russia in 24 cities.
