The capital of Tatarstan, Kazan awarded the winners of the XI Festival

September 11, by a solemn evening, at the Kamal Tatar theatre, the XI Kazan International Muslim Film Festival ended.

Participants and guests of the closing ceremony of   welcomed on  the "star track"  known filmmakers from  Russia and abroad. Among these special guests of the festival – well-known Russian actors of theater and cinema Dmitry Kharatyan, Semyon Strugachev, Dmitri Pevtzov,  and Katerina  Tolubeeva, participants of   street-rock group from Moscow "KarTush" led by frontman   of the group  Andrei Vertuzaev. On the red carpet walked   "the Oscar-winning" director and actor Vladimir Menshov, who headed the jury, and his colleagues - Latvian actress Mirdza Martinsone, director and actor Rustam Sagdullaev, directors Rashid Nugmanov and Ildar Yagafarov, as well as members of the selection committee and participants of competitive programs of the Film Forum.

The director of the closing ceremony of the festival was the XI Kazan Marina Kostina, the author of the script - Margarita Spetsloz. The scenery of the concert were the famous symbols of the city of Kazan - Kazan Kremlin   and tower Syuyumbike, Kul-Sharif Mosque. Closing ceremony was presented by   Marina Mikhailova and Dmitry Kharatyan.

Dmitry Kharatyan congratulated participants and guests on the end of the festival. People's Artist of Russia pleased spectators by performing the famous song from the movie "Gardemariny vperyod!".

Honorary guest of the festival, People's Artist of Russia Semyon Strugachev performed the song "Zelyonaya Karta (Green Coach)" by Alexander Sukhanov. "I have often been in Kazan   with plays, but always just for one day. I am happy that finally looked this beautiful city. Perhaps  St. Petersburg could envy its intelligence and magnificence. Longevity to  your festival! "- Simon Strugachev wished the participants and guests of the evening.

Grand Prix  of the  XI  festival has been  solemnly handed the Kazan Film Festival jury chairman Vladimir Menshov. The prize for "Best feature film" got the picture of the Kyrgyz director Sadik Sher-Niyaz "Kurmanjan Datca" ("Queen of the Mountains"). The main prize was accepted  by   director of the Department of Cinematography at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Muktaly Bektenaliev. "Kurmadzhan Datca" - a very instructive story that you want to try to understand. Kyrgyzstan - not the richest republic, but they made such a movie, which is not allowed to do, even with   cinema budget  of  Soviet times. After watching I had the desire to look carefully into the country ", - said chairman of the jury, Vladimir Menshov.

Talking about the festival, Menchov said that here there is a dialogue of cultures. "And that's fine! After seeing a large number of films, I learned a lot about the countries, the people "- he stressed.
