The Mission of Rossotrudnichestvo in London from July 6 to 31, 2015,held an exhibition "Classics and Modern Times" where pictures by Tatar artists Rinat Kuramshin and Albina Kuramshina were presented.
The exhibition was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of Russian composer P. I. Tchaikovsky, and is timed to the Year of Literature in Russia. The exhibition was organized by Rossotrudnichestvo, the Association of UK Tatars, Volga Department of Russian Academy of Arts, Department of "Ethnographic Art", Artists Union of Russia, international cultural museum and exhibition center of Moscow oblast.
The exhibition "Classics and Modern Times" was also demonstrated at the festival Sabantuy 2015 in London, organized by the Association of Tatars UK. The exhibition was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Alexander Yakovenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation R.K.Ahmetshin, Uzbek Ambassador to the UK O. Akbarov Ambassador of Tajikistan to UK E.Kasymov, embassy staff of the CIS countries, members of the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots in the United Kingdom, representatives of the municipal assembly of London, journalists, cultural figures, Russian compatriots and the British public.
The exhibition "Classic and modern" has warmly been welcomed by our compatriots in the United Kingdom and the British public. Expressing gratitude to Rinat and artists Albina Kuramshins, head of Rossotrudnichestvo in London A.A.Chesnokov noted that this exhibition reminds us of the great works by the Russian composer P.Tchaikovsky, and the example of prominent figures of national art shows Russia's contribution to the development of world culture. Chairman of the UK Association of Tatars R.R.Minullin handed diplomas to artists Rinat Kuramshin, Albina Kuramshina, Natalia Frolova for their assistance in the organization of events aimed at promoting national culture and arts. He also said that such exhibitions will definitely form a favorable business and cultural image of the Russian Federation abroad, contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage of Russia and Tatarstan.
