From May 27 to 30, 2015, Turkmenistan hosted the International Scientific Conference "Ancient Merv - the cultural center of the Turkic world", carried out jointly by TURKSOY, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and Khyakimlek of the Mary province of Turkmenistan within the framework of TURKSOY and the government of Turkmenistan "Mary - the cultural capital of the Turkic world - 2015 ". The representative of Tatarstan, Head of Department of the Tatar-Bulgarian Institute of History of civilization named after Sh. Mardzhani of RT AS, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Burkhanov took part.

Summing up the results of the scientific conference "Ancient Merv - the cultural center of the Turkic world", the participants stressed that such international scientific forums bring together peoples with common history, language, mentality, promote cooperation, deeper study and popularization of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the fraternal countries and peoples. Forum delegates - representatives of the cultural sphere from different countries - expressed their gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people for the warm welcome, great attention paid to the preservation of national heritage, including the unique heritage of Ancient Merv, the development of cultural dialogue between peoples.
