Yesterday, acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the VI All-Russian rural Sabantui, which took place in a village of Tatarskaya Kargala, the Orenburg region.
Prior to the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Governor of the Orenburg region Sergey Balykin visited a number of social and cultural objects in Tatarskaya Kargala. The official opening of Sabantui took place at noon. The main guests of the holiday were Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of Orenburg Region Yury Berg and Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan Salavat Sagitov.
Honorable guests visited the festive theatrical street "Seyidov Posad", presented by various national farmsteads, including Tatar and Bashkir ones. This year, the Republic of Tatarstan in the All-Russian agricultural Sabantui was represented by Kukmorsky municipal district.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the VI All-Russian rural Sabantui Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Governor Yuri Berg for the good organization of the holiday. He noted that in the Orenburg region pay great attention to the representatives of all nationalities, including Tatars. "Today we were in a lovely village of Tatar Kargala, visit the club, which was renovated with the support of local authorities, saw the school. And the village itself is beautiful. It means that there are conditions for all nationalities," - acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan said.
Rustam Minnikhanov supported the idea of Mikhail Babich about the future holding the All-Russian rural Sabantui exclusively on the territory of the Volga Federal District. So, in the next 2016 this celebration will be held in the Ulyanovsk region.
"I want you all to congratulate on Sabantui. I wish that all went well, the athletes showed good results and all today had a good rest," - he added.
Then Rustam Minnikhanov presented state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to the residents of the Orenburg region, which had contributed greatly to the preservation and development of Tatar culture. In addition, Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan handed the keys to the minibus to the head of the local regional national-cultural autonomy of Tatars.
After welcoming the participants, Yuri Berg said that Orenburg is a multinational territory. Today, here in peace and harmony reside 126 nationalities, he added. "Among them, 150,000 Tatars. 40% of the population are Muslims. We are able to work, we know how to have fun and know how to receive guests. I would like on behalf of all Orenburg to welcome our guests at this celebration," - Yuri Berg said.
In an interview with reporters, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that the Tatar national holiday Sabantui in other regions of Russia is of great importance. "We want to talk about our traditions, our culture, our language, and potential with representatives of other peoples. That is why we, together with our friends Bashkirs, organize this festival in different parts of the country," - acting President of the Republic of Tatartsan said.
