Celebration in honor of the Russian language held at the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre

A solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Russian language, has been  held today at  the   M. Jalil  Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet  in Kazan. It was attended by Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

We remind  the fete was  established by the United Nations and is celebrated on the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.

In  Kazan,  prior  the official celebrations, poetry meeting    at the monument to Alexander Pushkin near the  M. Jalil  theater  took place, after which Rustam Minnikhanov with  culture and art    figures of the Republic laid a wreath at the monument to Alexander Pushkin.

The celebration continued on the stage of the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre.

 Rustam Minnikhanov   congratulated     the audience  on the Day of   Russian language. He noted that the Russian language is native to 1.5 million  residents  of Tatarstan.

"The excellent knowledge of the Russian language - it is our competitiveness. In Tatarstan, much is being done to ensure for  the Russian language  to be  in progress, "- Rustam Minnikhanov   said. He thanked the non-governmental organizations, folklore groups, theaters, action groups, the Orthodox Church, which had invested  huge efforts in  promotion and preservation of Russian culture and the Russian language. In Tatarstan, in his words, today much is  being done for historic preservation. Today  restoration works  have been finished in Boratynsky, Tolstoy, Gorky   museums. "These are very important items that are needed for our young generation and to attract tourists," - said the acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan. He marked  the work of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan where  an  active    work in Russian national-cultural associations is   being  held.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that work is  carried out  at  the municipalities of the republic. Thus, recently,  the  holidays "Karavon" and "Alekseevsky chimes"   have been held in Tatarstan.

"I believe that we should have  a lot of events for we  our culture  should develop and preserve,   and most importantly, the stability, the agreement that we enjoy in our republic,  in our country," -  Rustam Minnikhanov said. Upon this, the ceremony of honorary titles  delivering took place. The title of "People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan" was honored actress   of the  Bugulma State Russian Drama Theater named after   A.V.Batalov    Tamara Molodkina. The title of "Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan " was awarded to the singer, a senior lecturer of the  Russian language   chair of  preparatory faculty KFU   Julia Ziganshina.  Honored Worker of Culture of Tatarstan have become: head of the department of organizational and analytical, methodical work of the national centre for development of traditional culture Rita Dedyuleva; director  of centralized club system  of the Novosheshminsky region  Nadezhda Zykova; teacher   of  Kazan musical college named after   I. Aukhadeev   Irina Porfir'eva.

The celebration was  continued   by the concert program with invited soloists and figures of culture and art of Tatarstan.
