May 18 - International Museum Day

Dear friends!

Please accept the warmest and most sincere congratulations on the International Day of Museums!

The past 2014 was a landmark for the entire cultural life of the country. Within the framework of the Year of Culture,   the museums and the museum-reserves of the  Republic of Tatarstan  a lot of work related to both stock and exhibition activities has been done. The total number of visitors to museums in the republic last year exceeded 3.5 million people.

Among the major events of 2014,   the inclusion of the Bulgarian historical and archaeological complex in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as the establishment of the State budget institution of culture "Tchistopolsky State Historical-Architectural and Literary Museum-Reserve" should be marked.   .

The museum service today must meet the needs of different target audiences - students, individual visitors and tour groups. World and domestic experience shows that one of the main factors attracting visitors to the museum is the "brand" of the exhibits. Therefore, the policy in the field of exhibition activity of museums of the Republic  is aimed at the organization of joint projects with leading museums in the country.

Despite the significant achievements and accomplishments, we are facing great challenges.  Active work on the preparation of an application for inclusion of the island Sviyazhsk in the UNESCO World Heritage List is under way. In 2015, the renovated house-museum of  V.I.  Ulyanov-Lenin, Literary Memorial Museum of  A.M. Gorky,  the  Museum of E.A.Boratynsky  and others  are to be  opened.  These museums are attractive targets for the display   to  domestic and foreign tourists.

I am confident that the professionalism, hard work and commitment to the creation  by  museum workers will contribute to the promotion of the cultural heritage of the republic.
