29 April 2015, Wednesday

April 30, at 15.00pm, the Exhibition Hall of Yelabuga State Historical and Architectural Reserve Museum will open the exhibition "Front-line drawings"  by  Haris Yakupov of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The exhibition is the third joint project of the  RT State  Museum of Fine Arts   and YSMR.

More than 60 works created by front-line artist, People's Artist of the RSFSR Haris Abdrahmanovich  Yakupov (1919-2010) during  the days of the Great Patriotic War will  be presented to Yelabuzhaners.   His   drawings  reflect  the bitter and holy, tragic and heroic truth  of  those fiery years.

Front-line roads of  Haris Abdrahmanovich  have been laid across the Battle of Stalingrad, Kursk Bulge, Lvov, Poland, Germany and Czechoslovakia. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and World War II degree, the medal "For Combat Merits".

As a chronicler and witness of  terrible events Haris Yakupov imprinted broken roads and equipment captured from the enemy cities and abandoned villages. And most important - people. Refugees, soldiers and commanders in a battle,  in  trenches and during  leisure time.

The figures reflect the life of the   warrior and artist  on the way to victory.

On  the second hall at the same time will be an exhibition  of   the works  by the winners of the XI Republican competition of young artists  "I paint like Shishkin"  themed  "Once there was a war", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the press service  of the  museum informs.
